Intel Processor Numbers, Generation and Letters..
SEGMENTS OF THE INTEL NAMING FOR PROCESSORS
There are six Segments;
- Company Name
This is the name the CPU Has been manufactured by.example; Intel
- Brand Name
There are different types of processor Brands e.g Core, Pentium, Celeron, Xeon e.t.c
- Brand Models;
Intel CPU’s have different intel Models which are distinguished by their overall Performance e.g. i3, i5, i7, i9
- Generation Indicator
This part of the Processor Name shows the generation the processor belongs to e.g 11th Generation, 10th Generation etc.
- Model Number;
Also known as SKU Number. This Consists of there numbers that follow the Generation Number
- The Letter at the End
This are Letters usually Found at the end of a processor Name. The letter usually highlights a certain feature or characteristic that separates that particular CPU from the standard model that comes without a letter designation.
The Letters you may find on Intel CPU’s are;
- K
This indicates the CPU is unlocked and can be overclocked Freely
What is Overclocking? Overclocking is resetting some computer component so that it ran faster than the specified manufacturers speed, The purpose of overclocking is to boost performance of the CPU

This Indicates High Performance Graphics that also consumes more power.
- HQ
This Indicates High Performance Graphics for a quadcore
- U
This indicates a low power CPU Model
- Y
This indicates an Extremely low power
- T
This is another low-power model that focuses on power efficiency over performance.
- P
This indicates a desktop processor that does not have integrated graphics
- X
This indicates the highest Processor Letter Designation with the most core e.g. the Highest now is Intel Core i9
The XE Version is higher and more powerful.
CONCLUSION.
